The Osserhotel in the Bavarian Forest is completely self-sufficient in renewable energy. Gammel Engineering planned the integration of the CHP unit to cover the base load of the electricity and heating requirements.

The Bavarian Energy Prize was awarded on October 15, 2014. Gammel Engineering GmbH received the prize in the category "Systems/Process Technology; Product Development" for its "Combined Power System".
