After-work with "duck galore" at Gasthaus Röhrl
Tradition obliges: On Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2018, our annual duck dinner took place with the entire team.
Project updates, company news, and insights on energy supply – in our newsroom, you won't miss a thing.

Unfortunately, Jenbacher's 20,000th gas engine is not an anniversary present either - but no one is likely to question the company's CHP experience. E&M reports on the current hurdles in the development and implementation of projects with highly efficient decentralized energy systems. Entrepreneurial thinking and strong decision-making based on our business plans are the basis for sustainable competitiveness in the dairy industry for our client. We are very pleased about the trustful cooperation in the successful CHP project.
For the member municipalities of the Berchtesgadener Land energy efficiency network, the "innovative CHP system" developed by our team on behalf of Stadtwerke Bad Reichenhall is the highlight in the region, according to coordinator Prof. Markus Brautsch from the Institute for Energy Technology IfE. This project was one of five projects in the nationwide competition to be awarded funding. A great success for the municipal utilities, the region and also for our engineers. We wish the network in the district every success and further outstanding flagship projects!
The Gammel Engineering team also takes responsibility outside of its "core business". Just over a year ago, almost 20 employees took part in an in-house training course to become company first aiders for the first time.
Off to new taste horizons at a special "After Work"! On 22 November 2018, a whisky tasting organized by our sports manager Ertan Toker took place at our premises for interested employees. All the rarities and their distilleries were presented in detail by the participants. The tasting was carried out professionally by our specialists and documented in "tasting checklists". Everyone agreed: "We had a lot of fun and would love to do it again together!" Ertan is looking for an appointment....
EURO Heat & Power reports on our planning project for the Isar-Amper-Klinikum München Ost energy center: "Boiler houses were once used to house fired steam boilers. The steam generated there was used to feed thermal engines and district heating systems. This was also the case at the kbo-Isar-Amper-Klinikum München-Ost: the boiler house, built in 1902, still exists, but the energy center inside was constantly renewed until it was given its current form in 2013. A technical system analysis revealed that operating a combined heat and power unit (CHP) would be an economical solution. For this reason, the hospital commissioned Gammel Engineering GmbH with a project study in 2013, in which the possibility of an extensive self-supply of electricity was examined."
EUWID interview with Gaelle Cadiou on the optimization of district heating networks: Every year, the district heating network in Germany is extended by hundreds of kilometers of new pipes. New generation plants often have to be integrated into existing networks. As a rule, new residential and industrial areas or housing estates are to be supplied with heating and process heat. The generation structure is becoming increasingly flexible in order to enable future energy strategies such as sector coupling. Highly efficient and extremely economical systems are required.
The trade magazine BWK reports on our network calculation and simulation with STANET: The expansion of the district heating network in Germany is making increasing progress: According to the main report of the Energy Efficiency Association for Heating, Cooling and CHP e.V. from 2016, the existing network was expanded by a total of 21,521 km nationwide in the same year. Many measures also involve the expansion of existing grids, in which new generation plants are being added and additional consumers are being acquired.
The St. Wolfgang building cooperative celebrates its topping-out ceremony on the Ziegetsberg. Gammel Engineering GmbH is commissioned to plan the technical building services.
Congratulations on the very successful topping-out ceremony! Our long-standing client demonstrated good style with a celebration in a heated tent with a blessing of the building shell and a sumptuous buffet. The Management Board has high praise for all the companies involved in the construction and, of course, for our project manager Robert Göttfried - the project is running on schedule and with outstanding quality. With 53 new apartments, Wohnbau St. Wolfgang eG is creating urgently needed living space in Regensburg.
For Milchwerke Oberfranken, the energy transition means maximum effectiveness and efficiency in production and, of course, in the combined generation of electricity, steam, heat and cooling. The Gammel Engineering team developed the future energy project and is carrying out all planning services up to the performance tests. We congratulate our client, Director Ludwig Weiß, and his team on their far-sighted decision and the sustainable improvement in competitiveness!
When the German government announced its collective energy law in October, Michael Gammel still believed that everything would be fine: "Politicians now seem to be making another correction, albeit a minor one. Renewable energies are to be pushed more strongly again over the next few years. Of course, I hope that this will not be limited exclusively to wind power and photovoltaics, but that the other diverse topics for which we can take over the engineering will also be pushed forward." However, what was actually decided by the cabinet this week will have the complete opposite effect.
