No new start - EEG amendment misses entry into renewable electricity system

In Bad Mergentheim, in the heart of the Tauber Valley, our team has developed and planned a modern natural heat power plant. Naturwärme Bad Mergentheim GmbH, a subsidiary of Stadtwerk Tauberfranken GmbH, built and successfully operates the plant.

For months, the political leaders in our country have been unable to create security for investments in the future of energy through clear regulations. The unspeakable discussion about charging energy-intensive companies with the EEG levy and the surcharge on locally generated CHP electricity is preventing investments in highly efficient energy systems.

This statement is a synthesis of technical and political aspects and aims to make the best possible use of the political scope for action for the thermochemical gasification of solid biomass. The German Bioenergy Association (BBE) and the German Renewable Energy Federation (BEE) were also involved.

Last Friday, 45 students from various countries had the chance to visit Arco Clean Energy's combined heat and power plant in Moos and learn more about the technology behind this innovative project.
