Sustainability requires foresight and an integrated approach to the development and implementation of forward-looking energy and environmental projects. The energy supply serves the core business of production and must therefore be integrated into the strategic development of the company in the best possible way. The Gammel Engineering team worked with BMW and ArGe Siemens AG / Ulrich Müller GmbH to develop a customized plant model. The key element is the use of waste heat from the exhaust gases of the new aluminum smelting plant to generate hot water all year round. Furthermore, the electricity base load is now generated via the new additional combined heat and power plant (2,681 kW electrical output, 2,366 kW thermal output) with heat-side integration into the hot water network. The heat is primarily fed into the two absorption chillers (1,050 and 1,100 kW cooling capacity) to supply the plant's cold water network. What is not required for cooling is fed into the plant's hot water network. A separate building was constructed for the new energy systems.
The CHP units generated electricity in good time before 01.08.2014 and are therefore exempt from the EEG levy.
The Gammel Engineering team would like to thank both BMW AG and ArGE Siemens AG / Ulrich Müller GmbH for the trust they have placed in us.

Gammel Engineering worked with the customer to plan and technically implement an emergency steam boiler system in order to secure the process-side steam supply of chemical and special materials producer Nabaltec AG in the long term.
We are pleased to announce another important qualification step in our company: Our employee Tobias Backhaus has successfully completed the BAFA energy consulting course for energy efficiency consultants for non-residential buildings.
