Rib Dinner at the Roding City Hall
On October 29, 2026, Gammel Engineering attended a Ripperl dinner at the RODwuid restaurant in the Roding City Hall.
Since the operator round table was held in Moos this time, the main topic was the neighboring Kombi Power System from Arcobräu Gräfliches Brauhaus GmbH & Co. Klaus Röhrmoser, who played a key role in its development at Gammel Engineering, explained the system and its advantages over a conventional ORC system. He spoke of a paradigm shift in decentralized wood energy systems: In particular, the enormous flexibility and high electrical efficiency speak in favor of the Kombi Power System. The focus here is on a wood gasifier whose pyrolysis gas heats air in order to perform work in an externally fired gas turbine. (You can find the presentation here)
The project manager of the new wood chip cogeneration plant from Arco Clean Energy, Christian Meier, went into detail about the plant on site. Meier explained the brewery's needs as a consumer of process steam and heat as well as the design of the district heating concept for the site. The presentation was followed by a tour of the plant. Many of the operators who had traveled to the site asked very interested questions during the presentations, but especially during the tour of the plant.
Count Arco himself, who manages the properties on behalf of the family, welcomed the visitors to the Gräfliche Schlosswirtschaft. He pointed out that the family has shown a practical interest in innovative energy generation for decades. Back in the 1920s, Count Preysing built a hydroelectric power station in the Mühlbach stream to supply Moos with electricity. The construction of the Kombi Power System prototype is part of a long tradition of innovative energy supply. As part of the village renewal, the Count believes it is logical to build a district heating network as part of the road construction measures that are planned anyway.Another hot topic was how ash can be optimally utilized. With 680 biomass heating plants in Bavaria (as of February 2012), this is a question that concerns many people. Due to the excellent thermal conversion of the fuel, the amount of ash produced by the Kombi Power system is a fraction of that of conventional systems and the fine dust emissions measured by the TÜV are less than 5 mg/nm^3 without dedusting (BImSchG limit value 50 mg/nm^3).The following points were also on the agenda: the latest news on state funding for bioenergy in the BioKlima and BioSol programs, explained by Angela Lichtenegger from the Straubing Technology and Funding Centre. Detlev Seidler, Managing Director of Ritter XL-Solar GmbH, a subsidiary of the well-known chocolate manufacturer, spoke about combining biomass with solar heat.A lively exchange of views between the experienced practitioners of biomass use continued in the beer garden shaded by ancient lime and chestnut trees. The event in Moos near Deggendorf was originally scheduled to take place on June 7, but had to be postponed due to flooding. http://www.vdbh-ev.de http://www.carmen-ev.de

The Catholic Youth Welfare Service (KJF) is building a shared living community in Rohr i. NB with four residential units for a total of 24 adults with disabilities. And not on the outskirts, but right in the heart of town. This is exactly what inclusion in action looks like.
CONNECTA is Bavaria’s largest student-organized career fair and a place where the business community and the next generation of professionals can truly engage in dialogue. We were there again in 2026: On October 21 and 22, we showcased our company on the OTH Regensburg campus at the fair’s 30th edition.
